At ESV we believe that businesses should be champions of positive change in their communities, this is a notion we are not just proud of, but live and breathe every day. To amplify our impact in the most meaningful way, we roll up our sleeves and rally behind organisations and causes our team is passionate about, championing them all year round.
This month we’re excited to take a sneak peek into some of our initiatives we’ve rallied behind in 2023…
Starting off the year we held our annual Biggest Morning Tea in support of Cancer Council Australia. Just like many fellow Aussies, the battle against cancer is a cause close to many of our team’s hearts. True to the ESV’s spirit, our breakout area was transformed into a charming bake sale reminiscent of our school days. Our team enthusiastically rolled up their sleeves, dusted off their baking skills to create sweet and savoury treats for the occasion.
On August 14th our team members laced up their running shoes and completed City2Surf. Taking each step to raise awareness and support for mental health through Beyond Blue. Our impact for the cause went beyond just raising funds, together our team fostered crucial conversations and shone a bright spotlight on the importance of mental health awareness.
We also embarked on a new initiative, breathing new life into laptops that had served their 9 to 5 days but still had plenty of life left in them. These revitalized devices found their calling within diverse organisations, each addressing unique community needs.
- Settlement Services International (SSI), a national for-purpose entity dedicated to fostering empowerment in Australia’s diverse communities, utilised these laptops to support newcomers through their Humanitarian Settlement Program.
- In remote Aboriginal communities, the laptops became lifelines thanks to CAYLUS/DotCom Mob heartfelt efforts. They placed them in the hands of secondary school students and hardworking individuals, unlocking doors to education and career prospects in otherwise underserved areas.
- Meanwhile over at Five Dock Public School, the laptops reached six families without home computer access. This simple act ensured that their children had the tools they need to chase their dreams, finish their homework, and embrace a brighter educational future.
As we approached the end of the year, our dedication and energy showed no signs of waning. In October, some of our incredible team joined Zambrero for their annual #Plate4Plate day. Alongside countless volunteers across Australia we united to pack life changing meals for those in need in the Philippines.
In the month of October –recognised as Mental Health Awareness month, we ran several initiatives for our team. Nearly the entire office participated in Black Dog Institutes walk for mental health; One Foot Forward. Then for the month of Movember, a team of ESV’ians came together to raise their voices, awareness, and funds for crucial men’s health initiatives.
At ESV, we’re not just dreaming of a better world; we are helping build it, one initiative, one step and one contribution at a time. Our dedication to social responsibility is not just a philosophy but a core part of our identity. As we continue to explore new opportunities for impact, we are grateful for the support of our team who share our vision for a more inclusive and compassionate world.
Together, we can drive lasting change and create a brighter future for all.
